Owner of the Maguire family of dealerships, Tim Maguire has built a strong, highly respected business in one of America's most prestigious small cities, Ithaca, NY. Offering some of the most popular names in the automobile industry, the Maguire family of dealerships gives everyone servicing or purchasing a vehicle his personal guarantee for great treatment both during and after the sale. Tim Maguire grew up in the area working part-time jobs through high school and college. Graduating from Western Michigan University with an automotive engineering degree and a Master's in automotive business, his career began in 1969 at Ford Motor Company in Detroit. Coming from a parts and service customer relations background, Tim with his young family returned to New York in 1977 to open his own Ford dealership. Tim says, "I mortgaged the house and the dog to make the move." Never having sold a car before in his life, he was welcomed and supported by the Trumansburg community. In 1983 he built a new Ford, Lincoln-Mercury store in Ithaca keeping the Trumansburg facility open as a satellite operation with full parts, service and body shop. By 1997 the Chevrolet franchise was added in Trumansburg and Nissan in Ithaca. Cadillac, Toyota, Subaru, Volvo, Audi and Volkswagen have joined the group most recently. |
